Structural Engineer-in-Training


Are you ready to help shape the future of transportation infrastructure? Our client is seeking a driven Structural Engineer-in-Training to join a dynamic team working on exciting, impactful projects. In this role, you’ll collaborate with experienced engineers to design and analyze a variety of permanent and temporary structures, gaining hands-on experience in the field.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and analyze permanent structures like bridges, foundations, and MSE walls, adhering to the latest design codes and structural mechanics.
  • Work on temporary structures, including formwork, falsework, fall protection systems, barge analysis, and more.
  • Provide on-site design engineering support and inspections, collaborating with Project Engineers and Managers to solve design challenges.
  • Contribute to material and shop drawing submittals.


What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s (or Master’s) Degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience; construction engineering experience is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles and constructability.
  • Proficiency with engineering design and drafting software (AutoCAD, MicroStation, RISA-3D, etc.).
  • Ability to pass the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam within the first year.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • A self-starter who works well independently and thrives in a team environment.
